La typographe et illustratrice Jessica Hische a été appelée à travailler avec des étudiants lors d’un workshop sur la typographie. Le thème était de travailler sur le nom BERLIN et donc en particulier sur chacune de ces lettres.

À travers la vidéo, Jessica Hische nous parle des avantages, inconvénients et différentes manières de les travailler.
Pour exemple, elle nous parle de la lettre R qui a tout pour elle, on retrouve tout sur cette seule lettre en passant par des panses, des attaques, une jambe descendante qui devient une queue. Cela offre tellement de possibilité de la travailler.
Concernant la lettre N, elle nous fait part de son affection pour cette lettre qui a une grande force à travers sa diagonale et combien il est important de bien proportionner la taille des empattements.

Joli interview où Jessica Hische nous laisse entrevoir sa vision des lettres et de comment avoir une possibilité d’exploiter chaque éléments.

i usually post these when i’m drunk (to be totally honest) which probably causes me to “loosen up” (as it were), but i am not drinking now so don’t expect anything terribly interesting this time around.

hey, i just thought of something: i don’t remember my dreams. i mean, if i do dream, i don’t really remember doing so and i noticed if i drink before i go to bed, i am guaranteed to have a dream i remember. sometimes they’re reeeaaaallly weird, but no crazy nightmares or anything. i’m pretty much just sitting in front of the computer when i’m doing this, so it’s not like i’m prowling the streets of new york with my “bros” getting “fucked up” and “chasing skirts.” sometimes i chase the cats (i’ll get into that at a later time) but the cats are definitely not wearing skirts. mostly because they’re male cats. mostly.

i drew this for someone. i hope they like it.
